Going up steep hills is easy with the R3! No more exhaustion!
By the time FedEx delivered my CaddyTrek3 I had reviewed every YouTube instructional video available. After unpacking I had no issues charging/pairing the unit and remote control. I found it very easy to extend the stand and secure the wheels. My golf bag sits squarely on the cart, the only issue is it’s very hard to pull out the iron located in the 6 o’clock position as the grab bar makes it hard to take the club directly out of this hole. I decided to put my least used iron in this location. I freewheeled the CaddyTrek3 to my backyard. I tested the remote features, forward/reverse/right/left, then follow mode and had no issues. A few days later I played nine holes of golf. The unit and my clubs fit nicely in the rear of my car. At the golf club it took about five minutes to get my cart set up with my clubs. I decided to free wheel the CaddyTrek3 to the clubhouse just like a regular push cart and also to hole number 1. That was the last time I would free wheel the unit. My observations during my nine hole play: I only used the follow me feature. In the past, it was challenging to use a push cart to get to hole number 7 as you have to walk up a steep curvy incline cart path and I would be exhausted at the top. With the CaddyTrek R3 in follow me mode it would be directly behind me and it properly executed the cured cart path. It was a pleasure walking up to hole number seven. The CaddyTrek3 is not an ATV and I learned that by trying to traverse a 6 inch wide drainage ditch. The two front support wheels caught the opposite side of the ditch as the main wheels went into the ditch. Needless to say the unit just spun its wheels but I was watching so I gently assisted it until it regained traction. While walking don’t make an abrupt turn away from the unit as it might loose sight of you and not follow you (have your remote on you). I walked across two six foot wide wooden bridges staying the middle and the unit followed directly behind me. During the nine holes of golf I felt like was just taking a leisurely walk. After golf I walked to my car as the CaddyTrek3 followed me, turned off the unit and easily stowed it back in the trunk.
